A FEMALE pedestrian has been injured in a collision in Lyneham which has closed the A3102 this afternoon.
The woman was struck by a vehicle which had initially collided with a lorry close to the main entrance to the Ministry of Defence base.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called but was later stood down following initial assessment by paramedics.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called to the A3102 Lyneham by the ambulance service at 2.33pm today to a report of a road traffic collision.
“It is believed a lorry and a car were in collision and the car was then in collision with a female pedestrian. This is near to the main entrance to MoD Lyneham.
“The pedestrian is not thought to have sustained any serious injuries. The pelican crossing has been damaged as a result of the collision and the council have been informed.”
The road remains closed while the scene is cleared so drivers are advised to avoid the area.
