STAFF at Chippenham’s Busy Bees Nursery have been celebrating after it was awarded a Good Ofsted rating.

The nursery, located on Bath Road, improved on its previous rating of Satisfactory from 2013 following the latest inspection on May 10 this year.

The inspector found that ‘staff provide a good range of stimulating, enjoyable resources and activities that motivate children fully as they play and explore’ and ‘staff have a good understanding of how to support children's physical development’.

The report also stated that ‘partnerships with parents are good’ and ‘staff update parents regularly on their children's progress and share ideas to support their children's continued learning at home’.

Areas which could be improved included ‘staff do not always recognise when to challenge children further with their mathematical understanding’ and ‘some staff do not always support children to develop their thinking skills and express their ideas during play and activities’.

Wendy Massingham, nursery manager, said: “It is incredibly rewarding to receive this acknowledgement from Ofsted praising the quality of our care and education.

“This endorsement proves that all our hard work is recognised and the care we strive to provide is delivered.

“I am very proud of the whole team. All the staff at the nursery work tirelessly to ensure that every area of care and education is provided at the highest level for our children and their families.”
