A WELL-ESTABLISHED Chippenham dental practice has a new specialist owner at the helm following a six-figure investment from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Dr Amir Savage has taken over the London Road Dental Practice which cares for more than 2,000 patients.

Graduating from Edinburgh University Dental School in 1992, Dr Savage went on to specialise as a periodontist and implant dentist at the Eastman Dental Institute (University College London) in 2007.

A refurbishment to modernise the practice, where six dentists, four nurses and three hygienists work, is now due to take place in the hope of growing the business.

Dr Amir Savage, owner of London Road Dental Practice, said: “Acquiring London Road Dental Practice appealed to me because of the practice’s strong preventative dental ethos, the commitment of the dental team and its potential to grow the business even further.

“Given that gum disease is one of the most common diseases, and is strongly linked to general medical conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, I am excited about extending the boundaries of traditional general practice dentistry and specialising in my areas of interest, such as the prevention and treatment of gum disease, aesthetic gum treatment and the replacement of missing teeth with dental implants.

“Before I took over the practice, it already had referrals for periodontal treatments from several dental practices.

“I am confident that this service will not only be of benefit to local dentists and hygienists but to surrounding Wiltshire dental practitioners.”

Paul Barnes, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “Dr Savage is a people person who appreciated the personable banking approach and the extra mile we were able to provide as healthcare specialists.

“We wish him all the best as he takes to the helm to provide first-class dentistry in Wiltshire.”
