A CHIPPENHAM company has been recognised for its efforts towards green energy at a recent awards presentation.

Good Energy was named one of the UK’s top green energy company after picking up the New Energy Champion of the Year trophy.

The 100 per cent renewable electricity and green gas firm was handed the merit at the 2016 New Energy and Cleantech awards in recognition of the organisation’s achievements since its inception in 1999.

David Brooks, managing director at Good Energy, said: “It’s a huge honour to have won this award as it recognises everyone’s hard work in making Good Energy what it is today. With the signing of the Paris climate change agreement taking place just last week in New York, there’s never been a more crucial time to think about where our energy comes from.

“Our mission to tackle climate change remains at the heart of everything we do. We strongly believe we have the opportunity to use the footprint of our business as a force for good and setting the standard for others to follow.”

Winners of the awards were chosen by a panel of experts based on innovation, sustainability and awarded those individuals or companies playing a pivotal role in the shaping of the future green energy and cleantech sector.
