FIRST AID training by St John’s Ambulance has now found its new base just outside of Chippenham.

St John Ambulance is teaching more people lifesaving skills in the Chippenham area. The charity’s workplace training has increased by the number of people it teaches by almost a third since moving to Langley Burrell Village Hall at the end of March.

First aid and health and safety course for May are fully booked already and more are being scheduled to try and meet demand.

John Cavanagh, director of workplace and community training, said: “We’re delighted that moving just a couple of miles out of Chippenham’s busy town centre has made it easier for organisations to take up our fabulous courses.

“Whilst still being close to the town, parking is easier and the venue is nearer the M4 corridor, which makes it much more accessible to customers from a wider area, and it’s a lovely, comfortable, welcoming place.”

In 2015, the charity trained 314 people at its Chippenham premises- a 23 per cent increase on 2014- but St John Ambulance hopes to top that figure again this year.

Mr Cavanagh added: “At St John Ambulance, we train more employees from more businesses and equip more workplaces, than any other provider. For us it’s all about teaching people how to be the difference between a life lost and a lift saved; giving them the skills, and just as importantly the confidence to take action when the time comes.

“Plus, our customers know that all our profits support St John Ambulance’s charitable work, including helping to fund vehicles, equipment and supplies for our incredible volunteers.”
