It's not only the UK's major retailers who have launched their Christmas adverts in recent weeks with the Chippenham BID releasing their effort yesterday.

In true John Lewis-style, the two minute 50 second long video features a soft acoustic Christmas song by local musician Jarid Clark which was written specifically for the video.

The video features many of Chippenham's shops and eateries going about their everyday business with plenty of festive touches also thrown in - including snow.

The new release is part of a major campaign to advertise the Fairy Tale Christmas event next weekend (November 28 and 29) which will include the Christmas Lights Switch On, by Warwick Davis and Andy Ford.

The Lights Switch On will, for the first time, be centred on a stage on the Town Bridge.

The two day event features a packed programme including a roller disco in the Neeld Community and Arts Centre, bands, choirs and carol singers, a Christmas market in Market Place and land train.
