AN URGENT appeal has been issued by police to help find a man who went missing from his home in the Chippenham area early on Saturday morning.

Police have said they have growing concerns about the welfare of Stephen Clarke who is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of chunky build, with receding blond hair.

The 51-year-old is thought to be wearing a blue check lumberjack shirt, jogging bottoms and brown lace-up boots.

His vehicle, a green Mitsubishi Shogun GLX estate, registration R749 HNA, is also missing from the family’s home address.

The car is described as having silver side steps on both sides and a tow hitch.

PC Nick McVey, a Chippenham response officer, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Mr Clarke. Officers have been searching locations that Mr Clarke might have visited, but have found no sign of him.

“We would appreciate the public’s help to keep a look out for Mr Clarke and the green Mitsubishi Shogun estate. Anyone who can help with sightings is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101.”
