STAR Wars actor David Prowse and others dressed as characters from the films descended on Emery Gate Shopping Centre on Saturday.
Fans queued-up for signed photographs and selfies with Mr Prowse, who played Darth Vader in the original three films.
The event was part of Chippenham Sci-Fi Convention’s build-up to its main event on Saturday, October 24, which is expected to attract an array of celebrity guests, displays, traders and costumes.
Nicola Milne, Emery Gate Shopping Centre manager, said: "The day was a big success, it was our busiest day of the year so far seeing over 21,000 people throughout the doors.
"It was a real honour to have met David and we are all now gripped in Stars Wars fever! I can’t wait for the October event and, of course, the next Star Wars film in December."
