HAIRDRESSER and stylist Caroline Brand has been named as a one of five finalists in the nationwide Goldwell’s ColourZoom competition.

The stylist, who works at Chippenham’s Oracle Hair & Beauty salon on Sheldon Road, used the theme of traditional rebel to produce a colourful and dazzling interpretation of a tribal style.

As the only finalist from the South West, her creative vision of what is a ‘traditional rebel’ could see her win a trip to Las Vegas and compete in the Goldwell global event in October.

Chosen by a panel of industry experts, including Shane Bennett, Karine Jackson and Sophia Hilton, the five finalists will be whittled down to first, second and third place at Freemason’s Hall, London on July 19.

Ms Brand said: “I can’t believe I’ve been placed in the top five in the country. It would be my dream to represent Goldwell UK at the World finals in Las Vegas”.

Her creation was moulded by an influence of shapes, tones and tropes taken from a plethora of tribal images, such as necklaces, patterns and styles.

Gill Jewitt, business partner at Oracle Hair & Beauty, added: “When Caroline goes into something, she really puts her all into it. I feel that she’s really earned her place in the top five, and I hope she goes on to win ColourZoom. She really deserves it.”
