British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating a sexual assault at Chippenham station are appealing for potential witnesses to come forward.
A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at the station on Monday June 1 at 12.30pm.
Detective Constable Richard Day said: “Following this assault, the man responsible approached another woman at the station.
“We know he said something to her, and that she walked away from him.
“We also know he followed her onto the 12.55pm Chippenham to London Paddington service.
“While we have spoken to the victim of the assault, we need to speak to this second woman as she may have important information about what happened.
“I would also ask anyone else who believes they may have information which could help with our investigation to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference GSUB/B3 of 10/06/2015.
Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
