Brothers’ sadness at shop loss

MOTORCYCLE shop boss John Taylor has spoken about his brother's despair at losing the Chippenham branch of the family business P.R Taylor and Sons.

Three weeks ago the motorbike dealership on Station Hill went bankrupt, shut up shop and handed its stock back to the suppliers.

Mr Taylor, who runs the Wood Street store of Taylor's 40-year-old business in Calne, says he will remain open because the stores were run as separate ventures.

He said: "With a business as old as ours, to lose it is heartbreak. Peter is very upset about the whole thing.

"I don't want people thinking he did a moonlight flit."

Mr Taylor will now continue with his brother's customers, performing MOTs, repairs and sales.

Brothers Peter and Steven ran the Chippenham shop until Steven left to pursue a different career.
