Police broke down a door in Eastern Avenue, Chippenham, on Sunday afternoon because of concerns for the safety of a 50-year-old man.
Neighbours and family raised the alarm and the man was found collapsed inside and taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary just after 5pm. The ambulance service said he was conscious and breathing.
