A NEW course about money, run by Christians Against Poverty, will be staged at St James’ Church, Devizes, for the first time next week.

The church is working with the Chippenham-based CAP charity to offer the course over the next few weeks.

The charity gives help and debt advice to people in the area and has now trained three members of St James’ Church as money coaches.

This involved a one-day training course so the new coaches can guide people through the course, along with giving advice.

Peter Kent, worship leader at St James’ and one of the money coaches, said: “We are not debt counsellors, but the CAP money course is designed to help anyone and everyone control their personal finances better and you certainly do not need to have a debt problem to benefit from it.

“If you do have one, then attendance at the course will make all the debt advice resources of CAP available to you.”

A taster session is being held on Monday, at 7.30pm, then the free four-week money management course will take place on the following Mondays.

To book a place on the main course, call 01380 725688.

Booking is not required for the taster session.
