POLICE were called to several car collisions on Tuesday evening, one of which involved the death of a deer.
Officers were called just after 6.30pm to the A4 from Calne to Derry Hill after reports that a car had hit a deer, which led to a Ford Focus and a Vauxhall Astra colliding.
The animal died as a result of the collision. An ambulance was called, but none of the drivers were injured.
Three other vehicles were also involved in a collision further up the hill, caused by an after effect of the incident.
In Corsham at 8pm a bus and a Peugeot 207 collided on the A4 near the Hare and Hounds pub.
No one was injured but the road was closed for nearly an hour.
A man was taken to hospital with a broken arm after a Nissan Note was in collision with a Fiat Ducato van at 10.20pm on the A365 from Box to Fiveways. The other male driver was not thought to have been seriously injured.
The road was closed until 11pm and an ambulance and fire crew attended.
