Wiltshire entrepreneur Harry Deeming is urging his peers to enter the Enterprising Wiltshire Awards before the deadline at the end of January.

Harry, 16, from Chippenham, won Young Entrepreneur at last year’s awards for his Indian visa photograph formatting website, visaphotoindia.co.uk He said: “Winning the 2014 Young Entrepreneur of the Year award was a huge boost for me and my business plans. Applying also helped me fine-tune my business ideas and really focus on my unique selling point.

“Receiving the award gave me the confidence to believe in what I was doing.

“My business has grown substantially over the last 12 months. I’ve optimised the website for tablet and mobile users and improved the review system, which has really enhanced it.”

Entries can be made in the small business, exporter, young entrepreneur, manufacturer, best product/ service, green business or start-up categories.

One of the seven finalists will also be named The Enterprising Wiltshire Awards Business of the Year.

Each category winner receives a cash prize of £1,500 from Wiltshire Council, with Business of the Year receiving an additional £500 and a full package of business support and networking opportunities from Wiltshire Business Support Service.

Chris Simpson, director of business support at WBSS, said: “Our aim is to provide a springboard for success for Wiltshire businesses and these awards are a great way of accomplishing just that.”

The deadline for entries at www.wessexchambers.org.uk is January 31, with an awards ceremony on March 20.
