CHILDREN’S charity Barnardo’s is appealing for people to take unwanted Christmas gifts to their nearest shop to be sold to help disadvantaged youngsters.

The most popular donations the charity receives after Christmas are often scarves, winter woollies, toiletry gift sets, DVDs and CDs.

A spokesman for the charity said: “Now that the festivities are over, we urge people to look at any presents they received which they know they won’t use. There are vulnerable young people across the UK who are desperately in need of the charity’s support, and by donating to our shops you can be part of making that happen.”

Donations can be taken to shops in Lodge Road, Pewsham, Chippenham, or Wine Street, Devizes.
