Wiltshire College is issuing an open-house invite to its new £21 million Chippenham campus, which is due to open this autumn.

The college will be organising tours of the new Chippenham facility, currently being constructed alongside the existing campus in Cocklebury Road, on Saturday, January 24.

And anyone interested in getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the new state-of-the-art facility can sign up for a 20-minute tour to be held between 10am and 1pm.

Last month, Chippenham MP Duncan Hames attended the topping out ceremony, to officially mark the completion of the roof.

Two days later, Nick Boles, the Minister of State for Skills and Equalities, gave the new facility his seal of approval during a visit to the West Country.

The new campus is currently the biggest skills funding project nationally, built at a cost of £21.2m, with a £17.8m investment from the Skills Funding Agency.

The purpose-built campus, on course to be opened in September, will be equipped with all the latest equipment for vocational study in construction, engineering and motor vehicle maintenance, music, media and art, hair and beauty, sports science and IT.

For any individuals, businesses or groups interested in taking a tour of the new building, sign up by going to the events section at www.wiltshire.ac.co.uk.

Wiltshire College, meanwhile, will hold an open evening at the existing Chippenham campus on Wednesday, January 21, from 5-7.30pm.

Plans and information on the new campus will be available during that event, as well as a number of hands-on activities, information on all the courses and apprenticeships available, and the chance to meet the tutors and speak to current students.
