AN ANIMAL charity is caring for three cats found dumped in a recycling box on Bonfire Night.
The two black cats and a silver tabby were found in a black recycling box in Chippenham which had had the lid tied on, and are now being looked after by the North and West Wiltshire Cats Action Trust in Melksham.
“We think they were deliberately dumped,” said a spokesman from the charity.
"They are now in the same pen and all curl up together so we are sure they are from the same household. Luckily they were found before any harm could come to them.
“They are young adults and, despite their traumatic experience, they are friendly and will be put up for adoption in the near future.
“Whilst all animal rescue groups/charities are struggling with the ever-increasing numbers of unwanted/abandoned pets, we would all much prefer people who are having problems keeping their pets to make contact to see if we can help rather than just dumping them like this.”
Cats Action Trust has a number of cats of various ages waiting for adoption.
They can be viewed on www.catsactiontrust.org.uk and adoption enquiries can be made on 01380 850406.
