King’s Lodge Primary School kicked off a year of celebration on Friday as the school commemorates its 25th anniversary this year. Every child brought in their own plate of party food as the school enjoyed an outdoor tea party and 80s disco.

The pupils have been looking back at the past 25 years with old newspaper cuttings about the school’s move from Westmead in 1989 and interviewing staff.

Teaching assistants Mrs Wolveridge, Mrs Hartley, Mrs Averies and Mrs Halliday spoke to pupils about their experiences of working at King’s Lodge from the day it opened to today.

Headteacher Lynn Evans said: “The children made bunting and each class is making a book about what is special about their school.”
