Wiltshire College at Lackham is upgrading its facilities for students with learning difficulties, thanks to a £500,000 grant.
The works over the summer will enable the campus to support learners with more complex needs than at present and to work more in partnership with special schools.
The Beech building, where foundation studies learners are based, will double in size and will be able to accommodate wheelchair users.
The woodwork skills area will be adapted to support learners in wheelchairs and will also get a sensory room and wet room.
An out-of-use polytunnel will be reskinned, heating installed and construction and horticultural areas will have variable-height work stations and raised beds.
A £1.7m grant, to be shared with campuses at Salisbury and Trowbridge, was won by the college in partnership with Wiltshire Council from the Government’s Demographic Growth Capital Fund.
