Team building games with a dangerous difference raised more than £800 towards a new horse for Lacock Riding for the Disabled.

People of all ages took part in contests which involved throwing axes, using catapults and shooting air rifles when Team Pursuits organised a fundraising event for the riding charity.

Chairman Linda Reed said: “It was a fantastic day and I want to thank everyone who took part and made donations.”

Ten teams of three took part at Owl Lodge, Lacock and raised £811.

The money will go towards the £3,000 needed to buy a new pony for the riding for the disabled group which meets every Monday evening at Lacock Riding Centre.

It caters for children aged from six to 16. Mrs Reed said: “You really see the difference the riding makes to the children and the progress they make no matter what their difficulties are.

“We need to raise money for a new horse as one of ours is about to retire. It will cost about £2,000 for the horse and another £1,000 for all of the other costs such as tack.”
