A three-car crash caused delays on the A4 New Road between Derry Hill and Studley yesterday afternoon.

Police were on the scene for two hours directing traffic after the accident near the Soho Inn at 4.20pm.

Cars involved in the collision were a black Citroen from Calne, a blue Vauxhall Meriva from Royal Wootton Basset and a grey Vauxhall Astra estate from Calne.

An ambulance crew driving past stopped to help two drivers with chest pains but no one had to be taken to hospital.

The council cleared the road of debris and oil. The road was clear just before 7.30pm..
