Frank Greenhill with his book One Back From 38, for which he has also designed its cover
Derry Hill pensioner Frank Greenhill is mastering yet another art form at the age of 92 – he has become an author.
Mr Greenhill, a resident at Kingston House Care Home, has published his first work of fiction, entitled One Back From 38.
He first featured in the Gazette & Herald last year for his watercolour art.
Several of his paintings were sold to raise money for people at the home.
The book tells the story of Flo, whose comfortable middle class life on a country estate changes dramatically when circumstances oblige her to move to a back-to-back house in the poorer part of Redditch, Worcestershire.
Mr Greenhill, who is wheelchair bound, also designed the book’s cover.
When he is not painting or writing, he can be found swimming at the local leisure centre.
Carol Grainger, manager of the home, said: “Frank is proof you can be a success at any age and you can achieve new ambitions at the age of 92.”
The book is available, priced £7.99, from Kingston House Care Home.
