Staff at John Bentley School are celebrating after being awarded a national accreditation.
The school was given a Careers Mark Five award, after assessors deemed their commitment to students’ progression beyond school leaving age was top quality.
The school was praised for delivering a “very useful and well-run programme of work experience and careers preparation for students”.
The assessors said: “All students spoken to were polite, articulate and enthusiastic. They demonstrated the outcomes of a good career education and guidance programme and were well-informed decision makers.”
Wendy Graham, careers coordinator, said: “It means we are nationally recognised for providing a great careers advice and support so our students leave with a clear idea of what they want to do.”
Head teacher Gordon Trafford said: “Preparing our young people to excel in life is our focus. This marks our commitment to ensuring our students are prepared to achieve more than they ever thought possible.”
