Arrest after drugs found

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of drug possession after police searched a house in Calne.
Officers from Calne Police’s neighbourhood policing team, plus housing officers from Sovereign Housing, visited a property in Anchor Road last Thursday after receiving complaints of the smell of cannabis coming from it.
A search was conducted and an amount of the drug, along with some prescription drugs, was found.
A 41-year-old was arrested and questioned. He was released on bail pending forensic examinations.
PC Hans Monahan said: “This is an example of direct action to address anti-social behaviour and will prove important evidence in any application to seek possession of the property.”
