Calne students learn to cook on a budget

Pupils at John Bentley School have been busy preparing for further education with cooking classes from a chef.

Anita Hodgson, chef at the Olive Tree, has been running ‘Grub on a Grant’ courses for those in sixth form and year 11, showing them how to make cheap dinners including chicken salad, quesadillas and tomato tartlet.

John Bentley teacher Cathryn Jukes said: “Looking to the future, I’d like to be able to offer these sorts of classes to the whole family so they can come to the club, cook a meal and then sit down and eat it together.”
