Teacher Fiona MacRae has her sights set on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in a June charity trek with two friends.
Miss MacRae, 25, who lives in Calne, said she wanted to challenge herself and the 19,000ft mountain was the perfect opportunity.
She said: “I am raising money for Help for Heroes because my brother Andy, who is 24, is a marine. He was in Afghanistan for around seven months and came back last April, so it’s a charity very close to my heart.”
She will be joined on the adventure by Lucy Swift, 41, the assistant head of Manor Primary School, in Melksham, where Miss MacRae works. She will be supporting the Interna-tional Childcare Trust.
Former colleague Hannah Brotherton, 24, who now teaches at Rowdeford School in Devizes, is also making the climb to raise money for the NET Patient Foundation.
