Diamond couple John and Mary McGinnie, of Calne, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with around 30 members of their family on Sunday.
Mr and Mrs McGinnie had a low key day on their actual anniversary on Thursday, but were delighted to have a family reunion in The Angel hotel in Chippenham at the weekend.
They lived in Scotland until 1962 when Mr McGinnie joined the RAF and was posted to Cranwell with their six young children.
The family grew used to moving as Mr McGinnie, who worked in safety equipment, packing parachutes for paratroopers, was posted to RAF Lyneham, a base in Cyprus and RAF Hullavington.
By the time they settled in Calne in 1976 they had nine children, six girls and three boys.
Mr McGinnie worked in Rowemarsh Electrics until he was 73, and his wife was a supervisor at St Mary’s School.
