A SUCCESSFUL slimmer from Swindon who lost an impressive four stone after joining Slimming World has launched her own group in Lyneham, starting on Thursday.

Aged 18 and weighing 14st 7lb, Allanah Walter was told by her GP that her blood pressure was dangerously high.

This devastating news was enough for her to say goodbye to the boozy evenings and late-night takeaways and make a drastic lifestyle change.

Fast-forward six years, and Mrs Walter has lost four stone and is 9lb away from her target weight.

“The week after seeing my GP I said to my Mum I need to do something about this”, Mrs Walter explained.

“It all went downhill from when I was allowed to drink. But it wasn’t just the alcohol, it is the food that goes with it, and the food that comes with the hangover the next day.

“I was having lots of fun drinking, but I wasn’t prepared to let that impact my lifestyle at such a young age.”

Four years down the line, Mrs Walter is now 9lb away from her target, 7 months after giving birth to her son James.

She said: “My journey has been very up and down. I was really close to my target before I fell pregnant but I am so determined to get there.”

Seeing how much her life changed for the better following Slimming World, Mrs Walter wanted to help and motivate others to make a healthy lifestyle change.

Slimming World helps members make more informed food choices, and unlike many fad diets, nothing is off limits, and is safe for anyone to join.

Those also looking to join Slimming World and have a healthier relationship with food, start their weight loss journey or find out more can join the Lyneham group which meets every Thursday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm at St Michael’s Church Hall.
