THE parents of a young teenager who sadly passed away last month following a short battle with brain cancer are fundraising to set up a charity in her name.

13-year-old Evie Clover from Melksham, and a former St Margaret's Prep student in Calne, was diagnosed with a large brain tumour on October 24, whilst on holiday in San Sebastian, Spain

After a month at Bristol Children's Hospital, her parents made the decision to bring her home so she could be with friends and family. On January 11, Evie sadly passed away.

Now, her parents Bryan and Patsy want to set up a charity in her name, to help provide immediate financial and other help to families who have children admitted to hospital with life-threatening conditions.

Mr Clover, said: "She underwent four operations in total, two in Spain and two more in Bristol, but sadly the cancer was too aggressive and widespread.

"During our month at the Bristol Children's Hospital, we were lucky enough to be accommodated in Ronald MacDonald House, but other families were not so fortunate, with so many funding their stays a long way from home out of their own pockets.

"We are setting up a charity in our daughter's name to offer immediate financial support to families whose children have been admitted to hospital wit life threatening or life limiting conditions, as well as to fund research into the extremely rare cancer that killed our daughter.

"We have already secured free legal advice and now need to fund to set up the costs.

"We hope residents would consider a donation to help get this charity going, in the name of a beautiful, clever, kind little girl from Melksham, who should have lived a longer life, to support other parents in their endeavours."

They have almost hit their £5,000 target. To donate, please visit: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/evieclovercharity.
