THE opening of a dog grooming salon has been a “dream come true” for one Calne lady.
Emily Saywer has been a professional dog groomer for almost five years, and on Saturday got to officially open her own salon, Vanity Fur on London Road.
After years of hard work, working at a salon while studying at Lackham College, and then operating her dog grooming parlour from home, the 24-year-old has finally reached her end goal.
"The opening of the store was brilliant", she explained. "It felt very surreal to be inside because I had wanted it for so long, so to see all my plans come together was brilliant.
"It sounds cheesy but it is a dream come true.
"From when first took an interest it was always my end goal to have a salon somewhere."
In her four and a half years, Miss Sawyer has built up a strong client base, and racked up 100 five-star reviews.
She said: "It is lovely reading the reviews. My clients have followed me here which is really lovely and I have some new faces too which is obviously very good.
"I started four and a half years ago, just grooming family and friends dogs. I would beg them 'please can I groom your dogs'.
"It started from there and I had a job at another place when I went to Lackham College and I have been on my own three years now."
Emily is now taking bookings for April. To find out more please call the salon on 07979120393.
