The clock change challenge, which consists of three races, also saw the 5,000th entry into the race.

An amazing 524 runners turned out at the Calne Leisure Centre on Sunday, October 29 to take part in the competitive 5k and 10k races, as well as the 1.5k fun run.

Runners were cheered on as they left the leisure centre and went out on Stockley Road towards Heddington by marshals, friends and family.

The Calne Samba Band also accompanied runners down the home straight, and all runners were given at special edition 10th anniversary medal for completing the races.

Operations Manager of Calne Leisure Centre, Luke Shipway, said: “With this being our 10th anniversary, we were thrilled to have broken 5,000 runners since we began.

“The weather was perfect for a new course record, and this proved correct with Jamie Parkinson breaking local runner Simon Nott’s record by 34 seconds to clock a time of 15:10 in the 5k.

“This is the biggest event to date.”
