SAINSBURY'S in Calne are asking their customers to nominate a deserving charity to become the store's flagship charity over the next working year.

The store in The Pippin, which is celebrating its ninth year of the local charity of the year scheme, will shortlist three charities on Saturday (June 3) with the winning charity receiving a year of support including fundraising and awareness raising.

Store manager Craig Hussey said: “There are so many fantastic charities in the local area which do brilliant work in our community. We’ve had a great year working in partnership with Wiltshire Air Ambulance and we’re excited to be offering a new charity the chance to receive support from our customers and colleagues.”

Since its launch, the scheme has raised more than £13m for charities across the country and shoppers will have a chance to cast their vote between June 12-25 in store and online.
