THE words of Lou Reed's Perfect Day resonated through the streets of Calne as hundreds of people gathered flocked to the town for the biggest Spring Sing yet.

The gathering crowds were left stunned by the performances of thirteen choirs, including the Warminster Military Wives Choir, across the Town Hall, the Library, the Free Church. the Heritage Centre and the Lansdowne Strand Hotel on Saturday before coming together in the late afternoon.

"It was absolutely amazing," Tracy Howell, who has been helping to organise the Spring Sing for the last four years, said. "It was probably our biggest event yet and it is definitely growing year on year. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the community came together as they always do and our visiting choirs loved it.

"All five venues were packed all day long and the Town Hall for the Military Wives Choir was standing room only in the end. It was definitely one of the highlights of the day for me."

After performing at one of the five venues the choirs got together with the public in the Market Place to sing songs from Lou Reed and Robbie Williams in the beaming sunlight for the big finale.

She added: "Sarah Mouille from Singchronize and I picked the songs for the big sing at the end and I picked Love My Life for the lyrics and she picked Perfect Day and it was so appropriate. It is a privilege to be able to do something like this and to get people from different parts of Wiltshire coming together is amazing."
