A RADIO station, which was broadcast for the first time from a Calne garage eight years ago, has moved into its permanent premises and studio at Carlton Business Centre.

The founder of Eartunes community radio station said he was delighted to move into the studio, opened by mayor Tom Rounds, on Saturday (April 1) and go live for the first time in more than three months.

“Eartunes Radio has gone through quite a few studio moves since it was founded in 2009, but this time it really feels like we’re home," Ade Truelove said. "We owe a huge debt of thanks to InterKlean and Carlton Business Centre for finding our new home.

"We never really considered our location at the White Hart as permanent but we are very grateful to David and Rebecca for giving us a home. We wanted to become a limited company and we needed out own premises for that and our own studio.

"Alistair Fenwick, the owner of the Carlton Business Centre, has been absolutely amazing and has even allowed us to put up a satellite dish on the side of the building. The actual studio itself was opened by Councillor Tom Rounds who cut the ribbon and he also stayed and gave an interview about his year as mayor as of course his term ends very soon. It was really good of him to do that."

The radio station, which went live for the first time in three months on Monday, will now share the building with a number of organisations including Wiltshire Air Ambulance in the hopes of sharing their love of radio and music with the rest of the community.

Mr Fenwick added: “I’m delighted to welcome Eartunes Radio to Carlton Business Centre, this is in line with our policy of encouraging interesting and dynamic enterprises to Carlton House. We have a variety of forward thinking organisations here and we wish Eartunes Radio every success in their new setting."
