THE chairman of Calne Town Football Club has pleaded with youths after one of their sponsorship boards was sprayed with graffiti.
Garry Murphy has voiced his disappointment on social media after the club had to fork out £150 to remove the tag, which was discovered at their ground in Bremilham View on Saturday morning.
He said: "I'm not angry, I try to avoid anger in my life and look at the good in people. I hope the person responsible understands the pain this causes many people and they stop. I've learned that many people care for this town and when incidents like this happen it hurts.
"The club is built around volunteers and people giving free time towards keeping this club striving forward and this graffiti or is it a tag hits us financially. We have many young players and local players at the club and we encourage anyone to come along to see the good we are trying to do.
"Please stop these mindless acts of criminal damage, which have hit us in recent times."
Wiltshire Police are investigating.
