A TEENAGER has been convicted of breaching his Community Protection Notice at North Wiltshire Magistrates Court for the first time in Wiltshire Police's history.

A 17-year-old man from Staines, Middlesex was fined and ordered to pay costs on Tuesday, November 2 after he breached the Community Protection Notice he was issued for causing anti-social behaviour in Calne.

Community Policing Team Inspector Dave Hobman said: "When unreasonable behaviour is having a detrimental effect on our quality of life, Community Protection Notices (CPN) are a part of stream-lined law that gives the Police and Local Authorities powers to deal with such behaviour.

"Persistent Anti-Social behaviour can have a significant impact and this case demonstrates that we will take robust action when people fail to heed warnings and adhere to Community Protection Orders."

The notice will remain in place to allow officers to make an arrest or report the offender if further breaches take place.
