A FOURTEEN-year-old from Calne, who lost her week's worth of wages from her two paper runs, was delighted when she discovered the money had been handed into police.

Ellie Garraway of Lickhill Road was reunited with her hard-earned money after a local man from Calne handed in £35 in cash to police after finding it on Curzon Street on Saturday.

While off duty, PSCO Mark Cook noticed a post on the community Facebook page Shout Out: Calne which reported that a fourteen-year-old girl has lost £35 that morning in the same street. The administrators of the Facebook page then contacted Miss Garraway and she attended the station later that day.

PCSO Mark Cook said: "Instances such as these are great to see, and shows that there are some really honest people in Calne. It was really nice to be able to return the money to Ellie who had worked so hard for it all week."
