CALNE Library has re-opened to the public following the completion of refurbishment works last Saturday.
The work was being carried out to prepare for the relocation of the Calne Community Hub, which is taking place in the week beginning Monday, August 15.
The refurbishments include installing a swipe card and CCTV system, which will allow the library to be opened without having staff on duty.
Calne Area Board chairman, Christine Crisp, said: “It is a fantastic thing for the town. We were just having some alterations done.
“It is great that it has opened on time and we look forward to its new use by the Calne Community Hub.
“There are facilities that will be far more widely used by all the local people. We have not extended the hours yet but we will be.”
