WORK has started on the refurbishment of the community hub and library in Calne.
The improvements include moveable shelving and a new swipe card technology to allow access to the library building and its facilities outside of the current opening hours.
Local community groups will be able to use this central space for meetings, activities and events.
Jonathon Seed, cabinet member for libraries, said: “The refurbishment and improvements to Calne Library will enhance the service and help to make Calne Library sustainable for the future.
"We will be piloting a new system that will make the building and its facilities available outside normal opening library hours. We will continue to run all the current sessions and events.”
