A FRIENDLY golf tournament that sees youngsters teamed with parents and grandparents attracted a large entry with competitors aged from ten to 60 plus.

The 36 pairs who teed off at North Wilts Golf Club near Bishops Cannings were in a foursome format which some found easier than others.

Teams from Wiltshire, Bristol, Berkshire, Gloucestershire and Hampshire competed for prizes in a variety of categories.

North Wilts pair of Paul Sandford and Charlie Lambert with a really good 39 points were the competition winner. North Wilts players Jack Trew and Brad Sandford won the U16s and U18s prizes with 32 points and 37 points respectively.

The girls’ prize was won by Ella Baveystock-Hammond (Wentworth) with 36 points, Under-13s by Rory Cameron (Upavon) with 35 points.

The Best Away pair were Eamonn and Hattie Dunn from Salisbury & South Wilts with 37 points.

A club spokesman said: "This is a very friendly annual event that pairs junior golfers as young as ten with adults who are parents, grandparents, friends and even club captains."
