BEVERSBROOK Sports and Community Facility has been awarded five stars in the Royal Horticultural Society’s South West In Bloom Pride in Parks awards.

The 94-acre Calne Town Council managed facility opened in 2009 and is now home to 75 football teams and a wide variety of other sports clubs.

Trudy King, Calne in Bloom’s co-ordinator from Calne Town Council, said: “It's fantastic that the Calne community are able to enjoy these well-maintained green spaces and it’s great to see the teams that look after them get recognition for their hard work.”

Alongside Beversbrook, Calne's Castlefields Canal & River Park also achieved five stars at the awards.

Linda Roberts, Calne Town Clerk, said: “The Town Council are delighted that Beversbrook has been recognised and received the accolade of Best in Bloom. It really has become an award winning facility on many levels. It is great that the care taken to keep the grounds in tip top condition and the careful maintenance and floral displays has been rewarded.

“Another great accolade for the dedicated and committed team who keep Beversbrook running. It is fair to say that Beversbrook Sport and Community Facility is a top class facility, offering something for everyone and it has become the envy of many towns.”

For the past two years Calne has been awarded Gold in the RHS South West in Bloom awards. People can follow Calne in Bloom on Facebook to keep up-to-date with the town's progress in this summer’s event.
