An 18-year-old Chippenham man was been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of class A and B drugs.

The man was then also arrested for being under the influence of drugs while in charge of a motor vehicle, and being found to be in possession of a lock knife.

The arrest was made during a rural patrol on Tuesday evening (January 19) when a Chippenham Response Officer and a Special Constable discovered two cars parked together in Stanley Lane, Calne.

As the officers approached the cars they could smell cannabis.

The officers found two people in one of the cars and then carried out a search of both vehicles and the people inside.

A 22-year-old Chippenham woman was also given a cannabis street warning for being found to be in possession of cannabis.
