A 91-year-old Calne man died after suffering a cardiac arrest in Sainsbury's.
The air ambulance service was called out at 11am on Tuesday after receiving a call when a man collapsed in Sainsbury's, The Pippin, Calne.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ross Culligan, paramedic with Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “At 10.55am an elderly gentleman collapsed in Sainsbury's. Paramedics were quick to the scene as there was a mobile unit just two minutes away.
"The gentleman had suffered a cardiac arrest, we then attended the scene and attempted to resuscitate him but unfortunately we were unable to save him.
“The gentleman received the same care that he would in hospital as we are critical care paramedics.
"Every attempt was made to save his life but due to the catastrophic event nothing would work.”
