BOWOOD House and Gardens will close for the winter this Sunday meaning this weekend is the last chance for visitors to catch Bowood’s autumnal colours in 2015.

Youngsters can be kept occupied with a special Halloween-themed trail, including clues and a map leading them around the grounds, from the admission kiosk.

The trail will take the young ones on a tour of Bowood’s famous landmarks including Tractor Ted’s Little Farm, The Adventure Playground, the Terraces in front of Bowood House, the Boathouse, the Hermit’s Cave and the Doric Temple before finishing up in the birthday party rooms where children can collect a treat for completing the course.

Also in the birthday party rooms will be Halloween-themed art sessions for children and on Saturday there will be pumpkin carving, face painting and a fancy dress competition with the most inspiring costume will win a family season ticket – worth £162.50 – for 2016.

The Halloween activities will run throughout this half-term week at Bowood ending at 6pm on Saturday.

Although closing to the public for the winter season this Sunday, Bowood House will re-open specially for its annual three-day Bowood House Christmas Extravaganza from November 25-27.

Bowood House and Gardens re-opens on March 25, 2016, in time for Easter.
