PARISH councillors in Lyneham and Bradenstoke Parish Council met again on Tuesday and this time completed the meeting without incident.

Last week’s meeting was ended abruptly midway through the fourth item of the agenda, consideration of matters arising from public participation.

On Tuesday the minutes of that meeting, which state that Cllr Judy Selby-Boothroyd proposed that the meeting be closed when a “verbally abusive” member of the public refused to leave the meeting, were confirmed.

The remainder of the agenda was completed without issue as councillors agreed to the formation of new working groups for Emergency Planning and Memorials, and adopted three new policies including Health and Safety, Data Protection and Records Management.

Cllr John Webb also updated fellow councillors and the 13 members of the public present on the North East Wiltshire Villages neighbourhood plan which will be going to Wiltshire Council in the coming weeks.

He said: “The next stage in the next week or ten days we may need an extraordinary meeting for council to approve the final draft. We will be making it available as much as we can but we cannot put it through everyone’s doors.

“It’s taken a lot of time, but it’s at the point where hopefully, very soon, we will be able to say we are going forward with the community plan.”
