Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in broad daylight in Calne.
The incident happened around 7.50pm, on Tuesday (June 2), on the bridge between the Co-op and Mill Street Car Park.
There was an altercation between two men on the bridge before the 47-year-old male, believed not to be local, fell and sustained a fractured ankle and cheek bone.
He was taken to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance to be treated but has now been discharged.
An 18-year-old man from Calne has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released on bail.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened.
"A group of people gathered around the injured man to help before the ambulance service was called, so someone would have seen something.
"If anyone can help provide more information to this incident they are asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
