SUPERHEROS were in Derry Hill on Saturday afternoon to take part in a fun run to raise funds for Rub-A-Dub Pre-school.
More than 80 people to part in the 1.5 mile run around Derry Hill School Field to raise money to buy summer outdoor equipment for the Lansdowne Hall based pre-school.
The children involved were rewarded for their efforts with a medal, banana and treats in race bags.
Rub-A-Dub deputy manager Maggie Raybould said the charity run pre-school hopes to have raised £380 from the event after sponsorship money and donations from the day are counted up.
She said: “As our first fun run it went really well, and we are looking to make it annual event and perhaps develop it into a triathlon."
The run was organised by the preschool and event organisers Events Logic UK, which donated £100 towards to fundraising total.
One of the organisers Steve Fream from Events Logic said: “It was a great afternoon and the children had a fantastic time.
“We got involved as one of the team here, Claire Deeble, has a daughter who goes to the pre-school and helped organise the run.”
Ms Rayvault said the pre-school is now busy thinking about the next event which will be something for parents to enjoy.
