COMMUNITY projects in Calne Without could be set for a financial boost after the parish council received a benefit fund from the solar farm on High Penn.
Following the installation of the 9MW solar farm by Sun Edison, the company donated the benefit fund to Calne Without Parish Council.
The council is now actively seeking to support eligible projects in the parish with possible four-figure grants.
Ed Jones, chairman of the parish council, said: “We are keen for the fund to directly benefit the residents of Calne Without so we are appealing to local groups to come forward and request funding.”
A parish council sub-group will look at all applications before making recommendations to full council.
The fund will be allocated across three main areas: community projects, renewable energy and environmental, to enhance the environment and parish's use of it but within those parameters the opportunities are wide ranging.
Suitable projects based in the parish of Calne Without should contact parish clerk Geoff Turner at cwpclerk@gmail.com or visit the parish website www.calnewithoutpc.org
