A JOHNNY Cash tribute show is to be staged at St James’ Church in Cherhill later this month to raise funds for the church’s restoration and ongoing maintenance.

Performer Steve Smiley has already filled venues throughout the UK and Europe with his accomplished impersonation of the legendary country artist.

Mr Smiley is also half of the The Smileys, a country, motown and rock-n-roll duo, who will entertain the crowd after the Johnny Cash tribute.

Fundraising committee chair, Shauna Bodman, said: “This will be the fourth fundraising concert we’ve staged in the Church and the popularity of the first three will hopefully make this a sell-out event.

“We hope to get a capacity audience and as numbers are limited to 140, we would urge people to buy tickets early to avoid disappointment.

“The money raised goes towards the restoration and ongoing maintenance of the church, parts of which date back to the 12th Century, and which today provides an increasingly invaluable community role.”

Doors will be open from 7pm on May 22 with tickets, only available in advance and costing £10 including a glass of fizz, available on 07763 581688.
